The Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture has officially appointed an interim committee to lead the newly formed Eswatini DJs Association, marking a significant step toward the formal organisation and professional development of the country’s DJ industry.
The appointments were announced through the Chief Executive Officer of the council, Stanley Dlamini, who described the move as part of broader efforts to strengthen the creative sector and provide structured representation for DJs across the Kingdom.

The newly appointed interim committee has been tasked with laying the foundation for the association, including developing governance structures, mobilising membership, promoting professionalism and advocating for the interests of DJs in Eswatini.
Leading the committee is Sicelo Mashwama, who has been appointed Chairperson. He will be deputised by Allen “Wicked” Stewart as Vice Chairperson. Thando Ntshangase takes up the role of Secretary General Manager, while Mongi Mabuza has been appointed Treasurer.
The committee also includes Nhlanhla “Delight Soul” Zwane and Siyasanga Nxumalo, who will serve as members.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, the council congratulated the committee and encouraged them to drive unity and growth within the local entertainment industry.
“Your mandate is clear: to structure, represent and elevate the DJ community. We look forward to a productive tenure under your stewardship,” the statement read.
The formation of the association is expected to create a stronger platform for DJs to engage with stakeholders in the arts and entertainment sector, while also promoting skills development, collaboration and industry standards.
Over the years, Eswatini’s DJs have played an important role in shaping the country’s entertainment culture, performing at festivals, clubs, corporate events and community celebrations. However, many industry players have long called for a formal structure that could represent their interests, support emerging talent and create opportunities for professional growth.
The appointment of the interim committee is being viewed by many within the entertainment sector as a positive and long-awaited development for the creative industry.
The committee is expected to begin consultations with DJs and other stakeholders in the coming weeks as it works toward establishing a fully functional national association.
The establishment of the Eswatini DJs Association also aligns with ongoing efforts to promote the arts as a contributor to economic growth, youth empowerment and cultural development in Eswatini.
