For the first time in its history, Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival will unfold over two full days for its 8th Edition. Festival lovers are invited to save the dates: Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August 2026, at the iconic House On Fire in Malkerns, Eswatini. This evolution marks Luju’s transition from a single-day showcase into a fully immersive weekend destination.
The festival’s Communication Manager, Phiwokuhle Dlamini shares through a press release that this move from a short Friday and a Saturday to a full Saturday and Full Sunday is only a natural progression for the Festival.
“Over the years, we’ve seen how audiences travel, dress up, connect and really want to soak in the experience. Extending Luju gives people the time and space to fully live the festival, not rush through it.”
The decision to expand is also rooted in Luju’s rising regional and international appeal. In 2025, the festival welcomed over 10,000 attendees from 26 countries, affirming its position as a key driver of cultural tourism in Eswatini and beyond. The two-day format allows audiences traveling from across Africa and the diaspora to fully experience Luju’s layered offering, while reinforcing its status as a must-attend lifestyle event on the African calendar.
True to its refined identity, Luju 2026 will continue to present a tastefully curated programme celebrating African excellence in food, fashion, music and design. Festivalgoers can look forward to elevated culinary demonstrations by celebrated chefs, connoisseur-led wine and whiskey tastings, a world-class regional fashion runway, and a vibrant Pan-African music lineup delivered with Luju’s signature elegance and creative confidence.
“The heart of Luju has always been about showcasing African creativity with intention and excellence, with two days, we’re able to deepen that storytelling, from what’s on the plate, to what’s on the runway, to the sounds that move us.”

The expanded programme invites guests to stay longer with more culinary showcases, additional runway moments and a broader music selection, the weekend format creates space for discovery and expression. Fashion remains central to the Luju experience, with attendees encouraged to interpret the annual theme across two distinct looks, one for Saturday and another for Sunday further amplifying the festival’s reputation as a style-forward cultural platform.
At its core, Luju remains anchored in purpose. Driven by Standard Bank Eswatini and House On Fire’s shared commitment to developing the creative economy, promoting sustainability and supporting small business growth, the festival continues to deliver tangible impact.
In its last edition, 103 small and medium enterprises, ( 85% of them local), collectively generated over E2.5 million in sales. A two-day festival means increased foot traffic, longer trading hours and greater economic opportunity for artisans, designers and entrepreneurs.
Guided by its founding philosophy, ‘A Return to the African Future’, Luju 2026 continues to call on audiences to reclaim their heritage while boldly reimagining African identity. It is a celebration rooted in memory, innovation and pride where tradition and contemporary expression meet.

Luju 2026 invites attendees, partners and sponsors to be part of this next chapter: a richer, longer and more immersive celebration of African creativity expressed through food, fashion and music.
