Preparations for Mbabane Day 2026 are now 90% complete, with the Municipal Council of Mbabane putting the final arrangements in place ahead of Saturday’s celebration at Coronation Park.
The second edition of the annual event is expected to bring together residents, visitors, businesses and entertainment lovers for a full day celebrating the capital city. With a star-studded line-up of performers and a programme catering to different interests, organisers are preparing for a lively gathering that will run from 11am until late.

The entertainment offering has continued to grow, with DJ Tap recently announced as the latest addition to the line-up. The DJ joins Aya City, DJ Mixmash and Bab’ Dlamini, adding to an already exciting programme that promises music and entertainment throughout the day.
The addition of DJ Tap has further raised anticipation around the event, particularly among music lovers looking forward to seeing some of Eswatini’s familiar entertainment personalities sharing the stage.
Beyond the music, Mbabane Day is designed as a community celebration, bringing together different elements of city life through food, business, sport, culture and family activities. The programme is expected to provide something for different age groups, making the event an opportunity for families and groups of friends to spend the day together.

Food and craft vendors, retailers and other businesses are also part of the event’s offering, creating a platform for local entrepreneurs to showcase their products and interact with consumers. This commercial element adds another dimension to the celebration, allowing businesses to connect with the public in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Sport and recreational activities are also expected to feature, building on the range of activities introduced during the inaugural edition. These included boxing, netball, basketball, miniature golf and children’s games, alongside food stalls and picnic areas.
The event also provides an opportunity to highlight Coronation Park as an important recreational space in the capital. Through activities that encourage residents to gather and make use of public spaces, Mbabane Day contributes to the municipality’s broader vision of creating a city where people can connect, participate and enjoy shared experiences.
Held under the theme, ‘Our City. One Community. One Day’, this year’s celebration builds on the first edition held in December 2025. The event was introduced as a platform to bring the people of Mbabane together while showcasing the city’s cultural, social and commercial offerings.
The second edition comes with the expectation of building on that foundation, with entertainment remaining a major drawcard while maintaining the wider community focus.
With preparations reportedly at 90% completion, attention has now turned to the remaining logistical arrangements ahead of Saturday. The progress indicates that most of the groundwork has been completed, as the organisers prepare the venue and coordinate the various elements that will form part of the day’s programme.
For residents and visitors, the event presents an opportunity to experience Mbabane beyond its usual weekday pace, bringing together music, local enterprise, recreation and community interaction in one setting.

As the countdown to Saturday continues, the growing entertainment line-up is adding to the anticipation surrounding the celebration.
With DJ Tap joining Aya City, DJ Mixmash and Bab’ Dlamini, Mbabane Day 2026 is shaping up to be a gathering that puts the city’s people, businesses and entertainment scene at the centre of the occasion.
Activities will begin at 11am at Coronation Park and continue until late.
