Mfowethu, U-Grend? Retreat Set to Champion Healing, Brotherhood, and Mental Wellness Among Eswatini Men

The groundbreaking men’s wellness retreat, “Mfowethu, U-Grend?”, is set to take place from 19–21 December 2025 at the scenic Malolotja Nature Reserve, bringing together some of Eswatini’s leading voices in mental health, personal development, and community leadership.

The immersive weekend experience promises collective healing, introspection, and rejuvenation for ‘eMajita’, with the ultimate aim of building a stronger, healthier, and more emotionally grounded nation.

Hosted by the Gogo Eswatini & S’lwane Care Foundation, the retreat is positioned as a transformative gathering where men from all walks of life can engage openly on challenges often endured in silence.

The foundation, well-known for its commitment to community wellbeing and social support, has curated a diverse line-up of speakers and facilitators to guide participants through conversations centred on healing, brotherhood, and sustainable personal growth.

The event will be moderated by seasoned communicator Phila ‘Ph.D’ Dlamini, alongside panellist and media personality Mfundo ‘Ndosh’ Simelane.

The hosts, Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane, will steer the weekend’s tone with their trademark blend of wisdom, humour, and cultural grounding.

An impressive roster of speakers will lead keynote sessions, fireside dialogues, morning reflections, and group activities.

These include Mtera Thwala, founder of Lea and facilitator of financial literacy sessions; Nceda Myeni, psychologist at Lusito Wellness & Counselling; Daladi Dlamini, entrepreneur and founder of Plant Co.; Khayelihle Dlamini, social worker; and Wandile Gama, psychological counsellor and facilitator of Mentcare Conversations. The lineup also features Malungelo Mamba, businessman and director of Build It Siphofaneni; Clement Dlamini, pastor and director at the Centre for Community Services, UNESWA; Lethumusa Simelane, senior archivist and historian of SiSwati traditional sermons; Enhle Mazibuko, mental health advocate; Dumsani Njobo Mamba, public mental health specialist and psychiatric nurse; Lungile Dlamini-Lekoko, career coach and human development specialist; Tiyas Maziya, businessman and real estate broker; and Dr. Wandile Tsabedze, scholar and research psychologist.

Together, these specialists will unpack crucial topics affecting modern manhood, including emotional resilience, financial empowerment, spiritual grounding, mental health literacy, family leadership, and the preservation of cultural identity.

The retreat’s design blends structured sessions with nature-based activities, encouraging reflection and reconnection in the tranquil environment of Malolotja.

The organisers emphasise that the gathering is not simply a retreat but a movement, an intentional step towards addressing rising mental health concerns, societal pressures, and the quiet burdens many men shoulder.

“This is a safe space for healing and honest conversation. When men are well, families and communities thrive,” the foundation notes.

Check-in begins at 6pm on 19 December, with the programme concluding at 3pm on 21 December 2025.

The camp fee is E1,500, with an optional E450 spot reservation.

Only 100 tickets are available and can be purchased exclusively via SmartTicket.

With its powerful mix of expert insight, cultural wisdom, and nature-based healing, Mfowethu, U-Grend? is poised to become one of Eswatini’s most impactful wellness gatherings—empowering men to show up stronger for themselves, their families, and the nation.
