When world-renowned live streamer IShowSpeed arrived in Eswatini as part of his highly publicised Africa tour, the moment carried far more significance than a single livestream.
For Sifiso Nxumalo, who was entrusted with the role of tour guide during Speed’s visit on 4 January 2026, the experience was both an honour and a profound responsibility.
IShowSpeed’s Africa tour, which began in Angola and passed through South Africa and Mozambique before reaching Eswatini, has been followed in real time by millions of viewers across the globe.

Nxumalo noted that Speed did not arrive alone, but with a vast global audience made up of young people, creators, brands and media, all closely watching how Eswatini would be presented to the world.
“It was an absolute honour and pleasure to be assigned tour guide for the world’s leading live streamer,” Nxumalo said.
“We understood that what happened in that moment would become part of how Eswatini is understood by a new generation, and by global audiences for years to come.”
While much of the public reaction has focused on the joy, cultural exchange and excitement captured on screen, Nxumalo emphasised that the success of the visit was underpinned by weeks of preparation.
These included cultural briefings, route planning, security arrangements and extensive stakeholder coordination, all handled with care and discretion.

Aware of IShowSpeed’s reputation for high energy and unpredictability, Nxumalo made a deliberate decision to anchor the experience on a core Swati value: respect.
“It was the very first thing I communicated to Speed as the stream began, as we entered the cultural village,” he explained.
“That moment became the tone-setter for the entire experience, and to his credit, he carried that respect throughout the stream.”
Nxumalo was quick to stress that the positive outcome was not the result of individual effort. He credited strong leadership, coordinated teams across tourism, culture, logistics and security, as well as the cooperation of fans who followed guidance both on the ground and online.
Special appreciation was extended to HRH Prince Sazi, HRH Princess Lomabheka, Pinky Glover, Darren Row, the Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA), and IShowSpeed’s fans.
“I’m thankful for the trust, the collaboration, and the opportunity to serve my country at a moment when the world was watching,” Nxumalo said, describing the experience as a proud milestone for Eswatini.
