While many will celebrate Valentine’s Day with candlelit dinners and flowers, the Manzini Lions Club is calling on the community to express love in a more meaningful way. On February 14 , 2026 the public is invited to take part in The Big Walk for Young Warriors, a 5km walk dedicated to supporting children battling cancer in Eswatini.
Held at The Rock, Edwaleni Resort, this event is more than a fitness activity, it is a collective movement of “Love in Action”, uniting compassion, awareness, and community support for some of the country’s bravest young heroes.
Why Your Footsteps Matter
By participating in the walk, individuals and families contribute to both personal wellness and lasting social impact. Every step taken supports:
- Early Detection Awareness: Helping to promote timely cancer diagnosis, which can significantly improve survival rates among children.
- Community Solidarity: Standing with affected children and families, reminding them they are not alone on this journey.
- Holistic Support: Supporting the Manzini Lions Club’s broader work, including providing daily meals to over 650 children and assisting with critical medical interventions.

A Day of Purpose and Relaxation
Set against the serene backdrop of Edwaleni Resort in Matsapha, the event also offers a restorative experience for participants and their families.
“The Big Walk for Young Warriors is driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of children battling cancer and to bring communities together in support of a noble cause,” Sammy, President of the Manzini Lions Club shared.
After the walk, participants can enjoy access to the resort’s facilities, including the swimming pool, gardens, and picnic and braai areas. Food stalls and live entertainment will be available, making it an ideal day of bonding, reflection, and celebration.
Join the Sea of Gold
To honour children fighting cancer, all participants will receive a gold t-shirt, the international symbol of childhood cancer awareness, creating a powerful show of unity and hope.
