Deep House Legend, Claude, Gracing Eswatini This Weekend

The deep house community in Eswatini is up for a special treat this Saturday as South African vinyl maestro Claude takes the decks at Deep House Conversations (DHC), a monthly music series that is set out to bring in all the legends that are behind or are great influences to what is today, one of the dominating music genres worldwide.

The daytime-to-late event will be hosted at Bahle Pantry @ The Foundry in Matsapha from 12 noon onwards, providing a relaxed yet immersive session of pure, soulful house music. Designed as more than just a party, Deep House Conversations continues to create a space where music lovers can gather around a shared appreciation for quality house music, meaningful conversations and a laid-back social atmosphere.

Claude, who hails from Orlando West in Soweto, is widely regarded as one of the torchbearers of South Africa’s deep and soulful house movement. A respected vinyl collector and selector, he has spent years building a reputation for delivering carefully crafted sets that celebrate the roots of house music while remaining relevant to today’s audiences. His connection to the influential Soul Candi label further cemented his place among the country’s most recognised deep house figures.

Known for the acclaimed Stereo Candi compilation series, Claude’s performances are defined by patience, musical depth and smooth storytelling. Rather than chasing commercial trends, his sets are built around carefully selected records that create a journey for listeners, making every performance a unique experience. His ability to blend timeless classics with soulful grooves has earned him loyal followers across Southern Africa and beyond.

Deep House Conversations has quickly established itself as one of Eswatini’s growing lifestyle events for lovers of authentic house music. Organised under Swazi Boy Entertainment, the platform has consistently attracted respected regional DJs while giving local audiences the opportunity to experience internationally recognised acts in an intimate setting.

Previous editions hosted at the Matsapha venue have featured notable names including Christos, Fistaz Mixwell, DJ Mbuso and Greg Maloka, helping build the event’s reputation as a destination for quality music and cultural exchange. Beyond the performances, the series encourages networking, good food and a welcoming environment where people from different backgrounds can connect through a shared passion for music.

Event organisers say bringing Claude to Eswatini reflects their continued commitment to strengthening ties between the country’s house music community and the wider Southern African scene.

“Claude represents the authentic deep house culture we want to celebrate. His sets are about patience, selection and real musical connection. That’s exactly the spirit of Deep House Conversations,”
