Music lovers are in for a treat this weekend as Alliance Française de Mbabane brings the globally celebrated Fête de la Musique to Eswatini, promising an evening of cultural exchange, live performances, and vibrant entertainment.
The event will take place on Saturday, 27 June, from 5pm to 10pm in Mbabane, offering a unique blend of French and Swazi culture through music, art, and traditional performances.
Alliance Française de Mbabane, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the French language and culture around the world, is hosting the festival as part of the international celebration of music. This year’s edition aims to create an inclusive experience that showcases both local and international cultural influences.

In a collaborative effort with Umswamo we Culture and the National Museum of Eswatini, the festival will feature traditional Swazi musical instruments and cultural elements alongside a carefully curated line-up of local artists.
Among the performers are Tribal Natives, a dynamic DJ duo known for their energetic Afro-house sets, and Ka-Tembe Connexion, a cultural music group comprising artists from Eswatini and Mozambique who use music as a platform to preserve and share their heritage. Also taking to the stage will be Bongiwe Dlamini, a celebrated creative whose work is deeply rooted in African identity and artistic expression.

According to the organisers, attendees can expect a diverse atmosphere that caters to different tastes. High-energy performances will keep music enthusiasts on their feet, while those seeking a more relaxed experience will find plenty of opportunities to unwind and enjoy the laid-back ambience.
Alliance Française de Mbabane continues to champion cultural exchange through various creative platforms, including cuisine, film, theatre, music, and visual arts. The organisation also plays a significant role in supporting local talent by providing opportunities for artists to showcase their work and connect with wider audiences.

Tickets for the event are available at the Alliance Française Centre in Mbabane. Pre-sale tickets cost E200, while tickets purchased at the gate will be E250. With a rich blend of cultures, talented performers, and an atmosphere designed to celebrate the universal language of music, this year’s Fête de la Musique promises to be a memorable addition to Eswatini’s cultural calendar.
