Hard work
Simelane has earned respect within Eswatini’s music industry for his versatility as a producer. Over the years, he has worked across genres including hip hop, R&B, Afro-pop, house and 3-Step while collaborating with artists such as Sarnilo, Grixxly, Mzwaa and Ayacity. Today, however, he feels his music has evolved enough to warrant a fresh identity.
The move from Stickxx to Lethumusa represents more than a name change. It reflects a clearer artistic direction built around a sound that cinverges Afro-house, amapiano and 3-Step, sounds that form the foundation of his new album.

“So the album is a fusion of these three sounds, i tried to create a sound tha fuses these 3 genres which i resonate with so much, with each song carrying traits of all the genres.”
Appropriately, the album carries his own name.
The 12-track album showcases his growth while remaining rooted in collaboration, bringing together some of Eswatini’s respected vocalists, producers and musicians. Featured artists include Pretty Hle, Mzwaa, Sarnilo, Lyrikal Busta, Judah Soul, Umzi, Nelly Noll, Zinia, Hailey, K Darrow and Hapkoo, among others.
While each collaborator contributes their own style, Simelane remains the creative force behind every track, producing the entire project and shaping a sound that blends soulful Afro-house rhythms with amapiano and 3-Step influences.
The producer wanted to create an experience that reflects his personality and the community that has supported his journey.
“I don’t want it to feel like a typical listening session where people just sit and listen, I want it to feel like a party where everyone is part of the experience.”
That vision has shaped every aspect of the event.
The session is In partnership with Easy Chow, a local grub joint with a range of succulents, known for it’s range of American style mean burgers. Guests are in for a treat throughout the afternoon.
Eswatini’s trusted couples and group game distributors, Everything Games, will add an interactive element designed to encourage people to socialise, compete and connect beyond the music. Further promoting a participatory environment for all in attendance.

The result is an atmosphere where the album becomes only one part of a broader celebration of creativity and community.
Performances for the day will be DJ sets from This Is Odd, DJ Tap, Mayas & Teqnosoul, ItsAllBlaq, Obsession, Stunner De Royal and Ohpis, creating a lineup that extends beyond the album itself.
Main listening session with Lethumusa is slotted for 6:30pm, not to be missed!
Interestingly, Simelane says some of the artists sharing the stage with him for the launch are people he has admired for years.
“I actually look up to some of the people on the lineup and I’ll even be meeting some of them for the first time, especially Mayas, so I’m just as excited as everyone else.”
His comments reflect the humility that has characterised much of his career. Despite becoming one of the country’s respected producers, he continues to view himself as a student of music, eager to learn from fellow creatives while celebrating their achievements alongside his own.

That collaborative spirit is also evident throughout the album, where established and emerging voices come together to create a project that highlights the depth of Eswatini’s growing music scene.
For Lethumusa Simelane, this is more than the launch of an album. It is the beginning of a new era—one that invites listeners not only to hear his music, but to celebrate the journey with him.
