Nakiso Releases ‘UNIVERSE END’ EP and a Unique Locally Produced Cap Collection

Eswatini electronic house music producer Msimisi Dlamini, known as Nakiso, releases his new EP, Universe End, on October 2, following weeks of single rollouts.

The five-track project continues Nakiso’s love for minimal and atmospheric sounds, moving between deep house, minimal dub and ambient music. Stream Ep here: https://go.protonradio.com/r/rla3WvoBnlS0U

Rather than treating the songs as separate pieces, Universe End is presented as one musical journey. It explores movement, longing, perception and the feeling of reaching the edge of something unknown.

A Journey in Sound

Nakiso’s music is shaped by his interest in ambient music and cinematic scoring. His productions bring together soulful textures, atmospheric sounds and detailed sound design.

These elements continue into the new EP, creating a project that moves between deeper beats and more open, spacious sounds.

The journey had already started with Alt Journey, the first single from the project. Followed by Sun Longing as Nakiso released selected tracks before the full EP.

Universe End has a total of five tracks: Alt Journey, Sun Longing, In Vision, Like Breathing and The Last Walk.

The EP also features Echoform on two of its ambient tracks. The collaboration brings an additional sound to the more atmospheric side of the project while keeping the quiet and minimal feel that runs through Nakiso’s work.

The project was released released gradually, giving each track its own moment before listeners could experience the full five-track EP together.

From Music to Merch

Nakiso is also taking his creative work beyond music with a new merchandise collaboration with Indigenous Africana a proudly Swazi production brand, printed a bold NKS which essentially is ‘NaKiSo’ removing the vowels in the name.

The idea started when he was looking for something unique to wear while performing. It has now grown into a limited run of NKS caps made through the collaboration.

“Im a sucker for texture not just musically but in material as well, something stood out about Indigenous Africana, their bold texture, and attention to detail got me. All the pieces are made to last and id like to share this with the community Ive created through music. Merchandise that stands the test of time, and identifies you as part of the family.”

The caps are selling at E349,95 each. Can be ordered via DM on all Nakiso’s official pages. Or via Nakiso’s platform that distributes art particularly promoting local artists of all forms of art at no initial charge, called Only Make Waves.

The caps follow a simple, minimal design and are made specifically for customers, turning a personal idea into something that supporters can also own.

For Nakiso, the merchandise adds another side to his creative work, connecting his music with fashion and design.

Another Chapter

Universe End comes as another step in Nakiso’s growing catalogue of music. He has released work on labels including Only Make Waves, Moodfamily Deepstiched Records, Mouth and Orange, and Deep House Cats, while also working on remixes and collaborations.

He is also one half of The Mendists, a duo formed with Nocktik in 2022. He had made plenty appearances on different international platforms, radio stations and has what it takes to take over the globe with his adaptive sound.
