Mbabane’s social and hospitality landscape received a glamorous new addition on Friday as minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs officially launched the sophisticated T&Co Pool Bar, a stylish lifestyle destination nestled within the Hilton Garden Inn Mbabane.

Backed by a major investment from the Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF), the new development forms part of the expanding Hilton Garden Inn Mbabane experience and signals a bold shift in Eswatini’s growing appetite for premium lifestyle and tourism offerings.

Launching the facility, Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Jane Mkhonta-Simelane described the venue as a celebration of Eswatini’s evolving tourism identity and its ability to compete with leading international hospitality destinations.
“The T&Co Pool Bar is more than a beautiful space. It is a statement. It is proof that world-class experiences do not only exist in far-off capitals , they exist right here, in the heart of Mbabane, built by people who believe in this country,” she said.
Bathed in an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere, the venue offers guests a premium poolside experience designed for both leisure travellers and the city’s growing lifestyle market. With elegant outdoor seating, ambient lighting, trendy décor and scenic views overlooking Mbabane, the facility is expected to become a prime destination for sunset socials, business networking events and weekend relaxation.
The minister said the project reflects the vision of His Majesty King Mswati III, who has consistently encouraged both public and private institutions to accelerate development and position Eswatini as a destination of choice for tourism and investment.
“We stand here today guided, as we always are, by the vision of His Majesty the King of Eswatini, iNgwenyama, who has called upon all sectors of our nation to fast-track service delivery and to position the Kingdom of Eswatini as a destination of choice,” she said.
Beyond its luxury appeal, the investment is also delivering tangible economic impact.
Mkhonta-Simelane revealed that the Hilton Garden Inn development has already created employment for more than 100 emaSwati, describing the initiative as a powerful example of how tourism investment can directly uplift communities.
“Garden Inn alone has created meaningful employment for over one hundred emaSwati, one hundred families supported, one hundred futures invested in. That is not just business. That is nation-building,” she said.
She commended PSPF for investing in infrastructure that extends beyond bricks and mortar to create opportunities, confidence and long-term economic value.
“To the Public Service Pensions Fund, whose investment made this possible, you have not simply funded a hotel facility. You have funded hope, opportunity, and a stronger Eswatini,” she added.
The minister also praised Hilton Garden Inn General Manager Christine Ndlovu and her team for consistently introducing innovative hospitality concepts while maintaining international standards.
