Tucked away in the peaceful hills of Mhlambanyatsi, Coffee Culture has become a favourite stop for those looking to enjoy great coffee, comforting food, and a welcoming atmosphere. More than just a café, it is a space where people gather, relax, and feel at home.
Although Coffee Culture opened its doors in December 2020, the idea behind it had been quietly taking shape for many years. For the founders, choosing Mhlambanyatsi was an easy decision. It is where they live, and the calm surroundings perfectly reflect the type of environment they wanted to create for visitors.
“Coffee Culture was a dream at least 10 years in the making when it was established in December 2020,” the team explains. “The vision was to house the Taman Tours office and provide a place for the community to get together.”

Mhlambanyatsi offers a peaceful atmosphere and a great place to come and relax, read a book, play some cards, and spend time with friends. While the scenery and setting play an important role, the real magic of Coffee Culture lies in the people who work there. The café has built a reputation for its warm hospitality, where customers are welcomed not just as guests, but as friends.
“Our staff make the place special,” they share. “You walk in as a stranger and leave as friends. Apart from the great food and coffee, you will leave feeling like you were the person they were waiting for the entire day.”
This sense of connection is central to the café’s philosophy. The team believes that the experience of a coffee shop goes far beyond the drinks and meals served.

Of course, Coffee Culture has also become known for its quality coffee. The café has always aimed to be a go-to destination for those looking for a truly great cup.
“We have always been the place to go for a great cup of coffee,” they say. “So the only way to find balance is to pair it with food that matches that same standard, and that’s what we work every day to accomplish.”
Breakfast remains one of the café’s most popular offerings, and over the years the team has seen customers request just about every breakfast combination imaginable. However, one dish consistently stands out: their salmon eggs benedict, which remains a favourite among visitors.

For those with a sweet tooth, Coffee Culture’s dessert selection is just as tempting. Sweet treats are an essential part of the café experience, and several favourites continue to draw customers back. Their muffins, chocolate cake, and carrot cake are among the most popular.
One menu item that holds special meaning for the team is their savoury waffles. The dish has been part of the café’s concept since the very beginning. When asked what the perfect Coffee Culture meal would look like, the answer captures the essence of the café’s menu.
“A Lindt cappuccino, a lamb burger, and one of our sweet waffles to finish it off.”
Another important part of the Coffee Culture experience is making sure that everyone feels included at the table. The café caters for a wide range of dietary needs, ensuring that every guest can find something to enjoy.
“We cater for all dietary requirements. Whether it’s something from the menu or one of our weekly specials, there will always be something for everyone.”
With its relaxed setting, friendly staff, and a menu filled with comforting favourites, Coffee Culture continues to live up to the dream that inspired it more than a decade ago — creating a place where good coffee and good company come together.
