Set against the lush fairways of Ezulwini Golf and Country Club, the Institute of People Management Eswatini (IPM) hosted its inaugural Golf Fundraiser Day last Thursday, delivering a vibrant blend of sport, lifestyle, and corporate connection.
Bringing together 64 golfers from across Eswatini’s corporate landscape, the event unfolded as more than just a tournament. It became a stylish social affair, where business leaders swapped boardrooms for bunkers, and networking took place under blue skies rather than fluorescent lights.
…Where Business Meets Lifestyle
From the early morning shotgun start at 9:15 a.m., the atmosphere was electric yet relaxed. Dressed in crisp golf attire, participants embraced the two-ball alliance format, balancing competitive spirit with camaraderie. Conversations flowed as easily as swings, with each hole offering a new opportunity to connect.

The setting itself elevated the experience. Nestled in the scenic Ezulwini Valley, the course provided the perfect backdrop, rolling greens, mountain views, and curated sponsor activations that added a touch of sophistication to every fairway.
Held during International Women’s Month, the event carried deeper significance. It was officially opened by Khangeziwe Mabuza of Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF), who highlighted the importance of inclusive leadership and platforms that empower professionals. Also among the distinguished attendees was Babhekile Matsebula, adding to the prestige of the occasion.
Corporate Culture on Display
Sixteen organisations took part, reflecting a strong culture of collaboration within Eswatini’s business community. Teams from companies such as Ubombo Sugar Limited, Mbabane Municipal Council, Manzini Municipal Council, Eswatini Public Transport Company, and Financial Services Regulatory Authority showcased not only their golfing skills but their commitment to people development.

Beyond the scorecards, the day reflected a broader lifestyle shift—where corporate engagement is increasingly shaped by experiences that combine wellness, leisure, and purpose.
With branded tee boxes, interactive sponsor stations, and lively watering holes, the event carried the feel of a premium lifestyle gathering. It was as much about presence and participation as it was about performance.
IPM President Sharon Maziya captured the spirit of the day, noting that the fundraiser celebrates not just the game of golf, but the network of professionals shaping the country’s future.
The support from partners such as Letsego, Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, and RES Corporation underscored a shared vision, investing in human capital through meaningful engagement.
A Winning Day on the Greens
On the leaderboard, standout performances saw Victor and Wonder Masilela take top honours with an impressive 49 points, followed closely by Leonard Bennett and Khulile Dlamini.

Meanwhile, novelty prizes; from longest drives to nearest-to-the-pin; added excitement and personality to the competition, ensuring that every participant had a moment to celebrate.
The IPM Golf Fundraiser has positioned itself as more than an annual sporting event, it is fast becoming a lifestyle fixture. One where business, wellness, and community intersect.
With plans already underway for the next edition, IPM has set a new standard for how professional organisations can engage their members, by creating experiences that are as impactful as they are enjoyable.
In a world where connection matters more than ever, this was a reminder that sometimes, the most meaningful conversations happen far from the office, on the fairway.
