Eswatini’s soulful singer-songwriter, Mzwaa, is set to make waves this Valentine’s season with the release of his highly anticipated new single, Caught Up, on Friday.
The track marks his latest musical offering following the November release of Esteshini, a collaboration with the versatile producer Lethumusa.
Ushering in the month of love, Caught Up is a smooth R&B track infused with subtle funk elements.
The song is built around a warm, melodic bassline and lush keys, creating a chill, late-night groove that perfectly complements Mzwaa’s emotive vocal style.
Lyrically, the song delves into the experience of being emotionally caught up on someone you just can’t get out of your mind.
The lyrics blend playful, easy-going energy with heartfelt emotion, making it a perfect soundtrack for the season of romance.
Produced live in studio, Caught Up showcases the talents of some of Eswatini’s finest musicians.
Vuyo Nsibande contributes rich, melodic keys, while Likhwa Maseko handles bass and lead guitar.
According to the superstar, the track is produced by renowned local producer Lethumusa, whose signature touch adds depth and warmth to the song.
Adding further texture to the record, the single features guest appearances from local songbird Sarnilo and rapper Amarii.
Sarnilo’s soulful vocals and Amarii’s reflective rap verse complement Mzwaa’s performance, creating an intimate and immersive listening experience.
Speaking about the song, Mzwaa shared, “This is an easy-going love song that celebrates the joy of being in love and being fully aware of it. We tried to capture that feeling of being helplessly smitten with someone and just reveling in that bubble of emotions, totally oblivious to everything else!”
Caught Up promises to resonate with listeners who appreciate contemporary R&B with a local flavor.
Its mix of live instrumentation, emotive vocal delivery, and infectious groove positions it as a standout addition to Eswatini’s thriving music scene.
Fans can look forward to a track that’s both relatable and captivating, capturing the highs of love with a laid-back, soulful energy.
The single will be available worldwide across all major streaming platforms starting Friday, 6 February.
With its combination of heartfelt lyrics, skilled production, and collaborative artistry, Caught Up is set to cement Mzwaa’s reputation as one of Eswatini’s leading voices in modern R&B and soul music.
