Destiny Group Marks 25 Years of Innovation, Job Creation and Trusted Partnerships

…Technology company celebrates silver jubilee, honours long-serving employees and prepares to host appreciation event for clients and partners

From a one-man music and sound operation to a diversified technology and business services group employing more than 100 Emaswati, Destiny Group is marking 25 years of entrepreneurship, innovation and growth.

The company, which began in 2001 as Destiny Music and Sound, has steadily evolved into a multifaceted business with interests spanning events management, construction, information and communications technology (ICT) and business technology solutions.

Its current portfolio includes Destiny Events, Destiny Group Technologies, Probuild Projects, Forever Young, Micro IT Solutions, Almona Group and Multisource, reflecting the group’s expansion beyond its original audio-visual roots.

Destiny’s journey began from humble surroundings. After operating as a one-person enterprise, the business moved into a modest two-room office and studio at SEDCO Sidwashini. Twenty-five years later, the group operates from its own office park in Ezulwini, a progression that underscores the scale of its transformation and the confidence it has built among customers and business partners.

Celebrating the People Behind the Growth

The group’s silver jubilee celebrations began last month with an internal employee recognition and thanksgiving event in Ezulwini, placing its workforce at the centre of the milestone.

The event provided an opportunity to reflect on Destiny’s history while recognising employees whose contribution has helped sustain the business over the years. The programme included employee testimonials, a prayer service and the presentation of long-service awards, with some members of staff having spent close to two decades with the company.

Destiny Group Director Tom Lin said beginning the anniversary programme with employees was deliberate, noting that the company’s growth could not be separated from the people who had helped build it.

“Our people have always been at the heart of this company. Some have spent close to 20 years with us and have helped shape who we are today. We are honoured by their input and dedication to growing the business.”

Lin said the company would now turn its attention to another important part of its journey, the clients, partners and friends who have supported Destiny over the past 25 years.

“We have been fortunate to work with many loyal clients, trusted partners and good friends who believed in us over the years. They have contributed to our growth in different ways, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with them,” he said.

The group is preparing a larger appreciation event later this year, bringing together clients, business partners and other stakeholders who have played a role in its development. The date and venue are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

From Technology to Experiences

While Destiny’s foundation was built around audio-visual services, its evolution has been closely linked to the changing technology and events landscape.

Over the years, the company has delivered solutions for churches, artists, government institutions, corporates and development partners, establishing a reputation for technical expertise, dependable support and innovative solutions.

Its influence has also extended into Eswatini’s entertainment and events industry. Through its partnership with MTN Eswatini, Destiny helped bring the internationally recognised MTN Joyous Celebration to the Kingdom for annual performances.

The relationship subsequently contributed to the development of MTN iPraise, which grew into one of Eswatini’s notable gospel music events, further demonstrating Destiny’s ability to combine technology, production and event management at scale.

Building Beyond 25 Years

The silver jubilee comes five years after Destiny Group marked its 20th anniversary in 2021. Since then, the business has continued to broaden its operations and strengthen its position across technology-driven services.

For Lin, however, the anniversary is not simply a celebration of longevity. It is an opportunity to reflect on the foundations that have enabled the company to remain relevant while preparing for its next phase of growth.

Looking ahead, Destiny Group plans to continue investing in technology and expanding its service offering in response to changing customer and business needs.

The group says its focus will remain on providing practical, future-ready solutions while contributing to Eswatini’s economic development through investment, innovation and employment creation.

The company will also showcase its businesses and capabilities at the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) 2026, where it will have a dedicated stand.

Its participation at the trade fair provides an additional platform for Destiny to engage potential customers, business partners and the wider market as it enters its next chapter.

After 25 years, the company’s story has moved well beyond its beginnings as a one-man music and sound business. Today, Destiny Group’s evolution represents a broader story of enterprise development, built on people, technology, partnerships and an ability to adapt to changing opportunities.
