Art lovers and cultural enthusiasts are invited to experience a powerful new exhibition titled African Meditations, opening on Saturday, 28 March, from 2–4pm at Yebo Art Gallery.
The exhibition promises an immersive journey into contemporary African thought, identity, and expression, bringing together the work of 27 diverse artists.
Curated by Aleta Armstrong, Sam Thwala, and Solunathi Mdlovukazi, African Meditations explores themes of introspection, heritage, and transformation.

Through a wide range of artistic styles and mediums, the exhibition highlights the richness and complexity of African perspectives. Visitors can expect to see thought-provoking pieces that blend traditional influences with modern artistic innovation.
The exhibition’s title reflects its core intention: to encourage reflection and dialogue. Each artwork serves as a visual meditation, inviting viewers to engage deeply with the stories, emotions, and cultural narratives embedded within the pieces. From textured mixed-media works to striking visual compositions, the collection captures both personal and collective experiences.
Located on Mpumalanga Road in Ezulwini, Yebo Art Gallery has established itself as a vibrant space for artistic exchange and community engagement.
The gallery will continue to host the exhibition during its regular hours, open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, making it accessible to a wide audience.

The opening event offers a unique opportunity to meet some of the featured artists and curators, providing insight into the creative processes behind the works. Attendees can also enjoy a welcoming atmosphere that celebrates art as a unifying and transformative force.
African Meditations is more than an exhibition, it is an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect with the evolving voice of African art.
