Manzini producer steps into the spotlight with a reflective, jazz-infused hip hop project shaped by patience and purpose.
A Long Time Coming
There is something quietly radical about a producer who spends twelve years refining his craft before releasing a full-length album. For Melusi Clifford Maziya, known as Golden Oldie, patience has not meant hesitation, it instead has meant intention.
That intention comes into full view with Less Is Enough, his debut studio album, released through Oriigins Distribution and Woof Gang Music Group.
Since 2014, Golden Oldie has built a steady presence in Eswatini’s music scene, working behind the scenes with notable names such as Swiss, Def Wood$, Oriiginelle and N.TxRus.

Based in Manzini, his role has largely been that of a craftsman, shaping sound and mood while others took the spotlight. With Less Is Enough, that dynamic shifts, placing him at the centre of his own work.
The Message Behind the Music
“The album explores real-life situations well known among people from different fields, slowing down and just taking it easy.”
The ten-track project blends conscious hip hop with jazz rap, brought to life alongside engineer Nathi Thando Khumalo. The sound is modern yet textured, with jazz-influenced production that feels grounded but still evolving, in an era overtaken by hype and commercialization of music.
At its core, the album reflects on a simple but often overlooked question: when is what you have enough?
Sound, Singles and Standout Moments
The album opens with ‘Take Your Time,’ featuring Swiss and Bluujay, a calm and intentional introduction that sets the tone.
Its lead singles, ‘Locked In’ featuring N.TxRus and Bluujay, and ‘Eye See It All’ featuring Swiss, provide accessible entry points while maintaining the album’s reflective direction.
Across the tracklist, the project moves through different emotional and thematic spaces. ‘Traffic Jam’ explores survival and adaptability, while ‘Enuf Is Enuf’ leans into introspection. At the centre, ‘Millie Mandela’s Interlude’ offers a pause and a moment of stillness within the album’s flow and a special dedication to Milliswa Vilane.

Pursuit of peace
Beyond its sound, Less Is Enough speaks against constant dissatisfaction, challenging the pursuit of external validation at the expense of inner peace.
While the message is universal, the project remains rooted in Eswatini. Its voices, perspectives and sonic identity reflect a distinctly local influence, reinforcing the country’s growing presence in the global music conversation.
More Than a Debut
What sets this release apart is the time behind it. Many producers begin young, but few sustain the journey long enough to deliver a debut album.
Golden Oldie’s twelve-year path, spent building other artists’ visions, gives Less Is Enough a sense of maturity. Rather than sounding like a first attempt, the album carries the confidence of a fully realised body of work.

Released on April 24, 2026, Less Is Enough is now available through Oriigins Distribution, founded by Originelle.
For a music scene that continues to grow beyond its borders, this is a release that stands out as measured, thoughtful, and built for longevity.
